Blood tests or questionnaires for personalised supplements?

Questionnaires and blood tests provide different information. A questionnaire records what you report about your routine and concerns. A blood test measures selected markers at a point in time. A useful supplement discussion asks how those inputs fit together rather than treating either one as a complete answer.

What each input contributes

InputUseful questionLimit to remember
QuestionnaireWhat do you eat, take and want help understanding?Answers do not directly measure blood levels.
Blood resultsWhat do the selected measurements show?A panel does not measure every possible health issue.
DNAIs there inherited information worth discussing?Genetic findings are not a stand-alone supplement prescription.
Clinical reviewWhat action is appropriate in this person's circumstances? The quality of the decision depends on the information and evidence available.

Can a questionnaire be useful?

Yes. Details about medicines, existing products and day-to-day routines can change the conversation. The important question is what the service does with your answers and how it handles information that needs individual assessment.

Does a blood test make every recommendation right?

No. A test result still needs interpretation. Ask which result supports a recommendation, what other explanations were considered and whether the proposed action is supported. A laboratory number does not remove the need for judgement.

Can DNA alone tell me what to take?

No. A genetic result can describe an association or predisposition, but it does not by itself establish your current nutrient status or the right product and dose. Health-related genetic findings should be discussed with an appropriate healthcare professional, particularly before a medical decision.

How does EVA use these inputs?

EVA™ by Elite Vita combines the information you share with blood results, optional DNA context and clinician review. A questionnaire helps describe your circumstances; it is not a laboratory measurement. Blood results show what is actually low, high or suboptimal, which is why EVA uses them as the main basis for supplement decisions. DNA can help explain a result, and a physician sets the product and dose. Compare the EVA supplement process with each provider’s actual assessment and review service.

How to compare two services

  • Ask which inputs they collect and why.
  • Check who reviews the information and how questions are handled.
  • Ask how medicines and existing supplements are considered.
  • Find out what happens when new information arrives.
  • Ask whether “no supplement needed” is a possible outcome.

EVA's approach connects assessment with testing and clinical review. Explore personalised supplements and the role of DNA, then ask which assessment fits your question.

Act from your own biology
